Irrigation Water Available April 18, 2018

ShoshoneFalls

Irrigation water is now scheduled to be available as of Wednesday April 18. This is about normal. Apparently there is adequate storage in the reservoirs this year. It could be available a little earlier but we need some time to let the debris flush out of the ditches.

Please follow the mandatory water schedule to ensure pressure for everyone and don’t forget to regularly clean your individual sprinkler filters. Watering Schedule

You can report issues during normal business hours (M-F, 9am-5pm) to Development Services at 939-6000, Ext. 207. If you have an after-hours emergency or if the water is off in your neighborhood after-hours, you may contact one of the following Board members: Roy 208-616-0379; Ron 208-375-0302
Contact information is also available at Contact Info.

Irrigation Water off October 16, 2017

Dry Wash

Our irrigation water will be turned off on Monday October 16. Feel free to water all you want until then. We’ve had a good year – plenty of water and the pumps were only down a couple of times. The new main filter helped a lot.

October 16 is just a day or so past normal shutdown and is later than the last several years. Here’s hoping we get some good snow in the hills for next year (but not excessive down here). The reservoirs have a decent amount of carryover.

Irrigation Water Available April 27, 2017

ShoshoneFalls

Irrigation water is now scheduled to be available as of Thursday April 27. The delay is due to the wet weather and Farmers Union not releasing water to us. Unfortunately there is a possibility it could be delayed even more due to damage to our common area sprinklers because of the snow plowing and pipe rupturing on Floating Feather.

Please follow the mandatory water schedule to ensure pressure for everyone and don’t forget to regularly clean your individual sprinkler filters. Watering Schedule

You can report issues during normal business hours (M-F, 9am-5pm) to Development Services at 939-6000, Ext. 207. If you have an after-hours emergency or if the water is off in your neighborhood after-hours, you may contact one of the following Board members: Roy 939-1482; Ron 375-0302

Snow, Snow and More Snow

From the time of my last post, the Board had arranged for a contractor to clear the mail boxes, drive ways and drains. Before that could be done we had the hard persistent freeze and the contractor’s equipment could not handle the ice so they had to cancel. Shortly after the post, ACHD and the Eagle Fire Department separately made passes through our subdivision and leveled out the snow and made it possible to get in and out. Since then we also looked into clearing the common area sidewalks and again found that due to the ice accumulation that was not practical. For the most part the sidewalks along Eagle and Floating Feather connecting to our sidewalks are not passable either. Along Eagle road the road graders throw the snow up on the sidewalk each time they plow.

It is the home owner’s responsibility to clear access to their mailbox, keep their sidewalks passable and get in and out of their own driveway.

The condition of the roads are the ACHD and City of Eagle responsibility and you should contact them if you are having problems. Click here to see ACHD’s position:SnowFlyer2016 ACHD

Help Is On The Way

snowonbirdbath

The Board and our management company have been frantically looking for someone capable and available to provide some relief from the problems caused by record amount of snow we’ve received. Fortunately ACHD and/or the City of Eagle have recently provided some relief by plowing our roads. We still have some issues with USPS accessing our mail boxes, homeowners getting in and out of their driveway, and uncovering the storm drains. We’ve contracted with a company to take care of the problems just mentioned. They are to start Monday January 9.

The storm drains will be critical when or if all this snow starts to melt. Locating the storm drains will be a significant problem – any help you as a homeowner can provide would be greatly appreciated. It would be terrific if you know exactly where one close to your home is and have time to shovel down to it. Here is a link to a map Ada County has provided that shows the location of all the drains.Link to ACHD Storm Drain Map

Problems with the plowing, etc., should be directed to our management company – LaRae Cervantes | 939-6000 | LaRae@dev-services.com

In case you are wondering the picture is of my bird bath as of January 8 with 15″ of snow on it.

Community Improvement Project at the Gazebo

You may have noticed some construction activity by the gazebo. Work has started on adding two kidney shaped landscape features around the gazebo. They will be similar to the landscaping by the basketball court. Each will have a similar rock sitting wall facing the gazebo with various shrubs and trees behind the wall.

In addition to the landscape features, the irrigation setup for the lawn area will be improved. A larger filter will be installed to the area and additional lines and valves will be added to the current lines. This will even out the pressure to all heads and reduce the labor needed to clean the filter.

Summer Lawns are doing both of these projects. By combining them they were able to give us a better deal since they could be worked together.
