Farmers Union reduced the water significantly on October 1 and since that time we’ve been running on only 2 of the 3 pumps. A few mornings the pump has gone off at about 6:00 am and were restarted by about 9:30 am. Your pressure has probably been affected during the time the water is on. It is not clear how reliable it will be until it will be totally shut off no later than October 10. You can water extra Tuesday night and Wednesday since Summer Lawns mow on Wednesday.
October 10 is a little early, we usually have it until the 15th or so. Here’s hoping we get some good snow in the hills for next year as the reservoirs are pretty well depleted this year.

Farmers Union Irrigation reduced the water in our ditch by 25% back on June 29. Recently, Friday July 17 through Monday July 20, this has been causing some problems with not enough water in the ditch to run the pumps. Generally this occurs early in the morning, usually around 6:00 am. We’re currently working on this problem and hopefully by the time you receive this as an email, we’ll have it resolved.
In the mean time and only on a temporary basis, if you missed your regular time, go ahead and manually water. The best time to do that would be during the day from noon until 9:00 pm to not interfere with other home owners and to have adequate pressure.
Summer Lawns mows the lawn on Wednesday so they do not water late Tuesday or most of the day on Wednesday. You may want to water during that time if you need some extra time.

We’re still experiencing filter problems in just a few areas. The CW wand filter and the large main filter at the pump both look good. The filter at the Gazebo area has been showing quite a lot of sand. Plant matter is the normal material found in filters but sand could mean a break in a main line somewhere maybe under a pathway or street that may not have surfaced yet. Has anyone noticed excess standing water anywhere in the subdivision? If you do or if you are having to clean your filters much more often that normal please send an email to RedLeafHeightsHOA@gmail.com. Be sure to include your address.
Thanks everyone! We know that this is not an opportune time to have irrigation problems.

Farmer Union Irrigation water has reduced the water in our ditch by 25% beginning Monday morning June 29.
This was done to stretch storage water through to the end of the season. We will monitor this closely – potential problems could be loss of pressure at times or even shutdown of the pumps.
Earlier this year we had some problems with extra debris which we hope has now been corrected.
We know that this is absolutely the worst time for this to occur but you can help by keeping your own filters clean and reduce any extra watering if possible.
Please follow the mandatory water schedule which you can find at:Watering Schedule
Summer Lawns mows the lawn on Wednesday so they do not water late Tuesday or most of the day on Wednesday. You may want to water during that time if you need some extra time.
Depending on the impact of reducing the water we may have to adjust the watering schedule.

Spring is here and it’s time for some landscaping activity. As with ACHD policy, the HOA requests that you trim back trees and schrubs which may be causing obstruction and to also keep a neat and attractive appearance. Pay special attention to the trees in the landscape strip between the street and sidewalk to allow for pedestrian use.
ACHD defines obstruction as anything that:
It’s a little late to do major tree pruning which should be done in late winter but minor pruning can be done any time of the year. Low hanging or broken branches, root suckers, water sprouts should always be removed as soon as they occur.
Check out this link for some tips on how to prune. Tree Pruning It covers both fruit and shade trees.
Pruning is good for the trees and done properly will improve their health and shape. Don’t worry about applying anything to the cut as sap running out of the cut is not a problem to the tree.
